Highlight from Nov./Dec. 2016: Journey To Joyce Meyer Touches Lives
It was a weekend filled with worship, laughter and friendship as nine Women of Alabaster girls and volunteers journeyed to Cleveland for the Joyce Meyer conference. The highlight of the October 14 & 15 trip was hearing Meyer share from her most popular bestseller ever, “Battlefield of the Mind,” which the girls have been studying in the Recovery Bible study group. Thanks to our sponsors, the group learned more about overcoming the various attacks on the mind. Meyer talked about how negative thoughts such as worry, doubt, confusion, depression, anger and feelings of condemnation can harm a person, then shared ways to change one’s life by changing the mind to think like God thinks.
But the weekend was full also of fun and friendship as the group bonded during the drive, over meals and through much discussion and mutual prayer. According to many, it truly was a life-changing time.
Thanks to our sponsors for their generosity that made such a trip possible; without their support, it would not have been possible. We appreciate the gifts from: Debbie and Bob; Diane; Barry and Cheryl; Valerie; Tammy from Safe Harbor of Hope for the lunches and prayers; Pastor Pete Witt; and Church on Fire for the use of the ministry bus.
